Featured Work "Charlie" In anticipation of our journey to New Orleans to attend the opening of Craig Tracy's Painted Alive Bodyypainting Gallery in the historic French Quarter, We planned to do a painting that would commemorate the heritage and culture of the city (still feeling the after effects of Katrina). The model was my sister-in-law, Lucyna. Polish by birth and as yet unacquainted with Cajun culture. I chose a Jazz theme, having found an old photograph of Charlie Parker blowing the tunes through his saxophone. A vibrant explosion of colors and forms would emerge from his horn, abstracted cityscapes would appear and fluer de lis motifs would scatter the themselves throughout the design, reflecting the recovering soul of the city of New Orleans.
